Dr. Porto, MD, MPH, FAAD
Dr Porto is a double board-certified Mohs micrographic surgeon. Dr Porto graduated at the top of his class in medical school at the University of Iowa before completing a skin cancer research fellowship at Harvard, a one year internship, and a three year dermatology residency. In dermatology residency, Dr Porto refined his surgical, reconstructive, laser, and cosmetic expertise. Dr Porto credits much of his professional and surgical development to mentorship by American College of Mohs Surgery past-president, Dr. Roger Ceilley and American Academy of Dermatology past-president Dr. Henry Lim.
After this clinical training, Dr Porto was awarded the Lewis Hackett scholarship to return to Harvard where he studied at the School of Public Health (HSPH) and the Business School (HBS) and was awarded a Masters in Public Health. He completed additional post-graduate training in Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstruction and is a board-certified micrographic surgeon. He is the author of dozens of textbook chapters and journal articles. Dr Porto was an author and editor for the textbook on Botox and other cosmetic injections. He was awarded the Golden Scalpel by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Whether he is surgically removing a skin cancer, using cosmetic lasers or injectables, or helping a patient with acne achieve clear skin, Dr Porto loves finding ways to guide his patients to perfect skin health.
